Ah, blogging..
You used to be such a big part of my life. But now, I don't have time to read or write blog posts. So you sit, like a neglected journal, as I sew and post pictures almost daily to instagram.
I have thought many times over the last few weeks of blogposts I'd like to write, and I hope one day to tell you the stories behind all the quilts I'm making (3 huge projects are getting all my attention these days). I want to keep this space for those stories, because they belong here. But right now my heart is in the sewing, the creating, the living through fabric and quilts. Just let me say that much and when the words come, I will put them here.
About the Star Count though..
I can't keep up with every week, but I do want it to be predictable enough for you guys to set personal goals for stitching.. let's give once a month a try. Starting today, the first Monday of the month, I'll post a linky. Please link up, we'll have so much more to see.
Here's the state of Travel Quilt #5. I didn't work on it this week, but I thought about it a lot..
If you have any EPP projects in the works, please link to photos and stories of them below:

IG is a total time suck! I don't read blogs as much as I used to but I have been thinking a lot recently about how much I miss it. I love reading the stories and ultimately that tends to spark my creativity way more than just looking at pictures. I'm going to try to read more :) Enjoy your sewing!
ReplyDeleteJessica, I can understand that you don't want your blog becoming a series of link back posts. I think that your decision to move to once a month will provide us with consistency and not be too difficult for you. Thanks for starting this and keeping it up. I've added a way for "Star Counters" to subscribe to my blog if they want, and I will be looking for links on their sites to subscribe as well. I wrote about that in my link back post today. I hope your current projects are coming along well.
ReplyDeleteYes I've appreciated that this link up is here....although there are times when I haven't used it. Once a month is enough for me. I look forward to eventually reading about your other exploits.
ReplyDeleteI have been negligent in my own work but am going to make a real effort to show once a month. And a blog of my own is in my near future! You aren't aware, but thanks for the push!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about IG taking time away from blogging. But I agree with others here, I'm going to try and focus more on blogging. IG is great for when you don't have time to write but I enjoy reading blogs and meeting other quilty people! Glad you're still doing the monthly linkup!
ReplyDeleteI completely feel you on blogging. Also feel the same about "thinking" about a project and actually getting time to work on it. I love your Traveling Quilt progress!
ReplyDeleteI found your book in the local library where I live that is translated in dutch. After reading it, I become interested to make quilt english paper piecing. It seem easy to make..
