It's been a long time

Guess what's finished and on its way to the long armer?

I worked on this top for a little more than 2 years, and I. Love. It.
Just a teaser shot for now, thanks for your patience...

  1. Tada! Only two years it took you? I'd say that's remarkable for all that hand work.

  3. It's stunning! Did you applique the diamonds onto the turquoise fabric, or did you sew them together? I'm doing a diamond quilt because I was inspired by you, but am not sure how I want to finish it.

  11. Beautiful! I'd also love some clarification on how to finish the edges. I started my star quilt a couple of weeks ago, and really don't know what to do with the edges. Do you applique it to a strip for the border? I haven't decided how large mine is going to be. I'm finding that I can make the stars pretty quickly, but stitching them together is quite time consuming. Thanks for the great inspiration.

  12. Jessica, I've made many quilts by machine but YOU inspired me to try this and now everyone keeps asking "How many stars do you have done and how many more to you have to do?" It is very addicitive!!!! I'll need more instructions on how to addthe border - but that may be another year to a year and a half :-}!! Thanks for keeping us up with your life.
